True crime lives or dies by restraint. For this documentary on forensic DNA science we rebuilt the places where cases unfolded — a lakeside camp, a kitchen, an interrogation room, a forensic lab — as monochrome 3D spaces with silhouetted figures instead of actors.
The look borrows from surveillance monitors and case files: scan lines, data overlays, archival headlines. It lets the documentary show what happened without dramatising it, and keeps the focus on the evidence.
